Games for Leapfrog's Leapster System

Programmer for the first round of Flash games on the Leapster handheld gaming platform. This was a fun and challenging project, since the hardware had not been completley defined as developers were writing game code. Imagine lots of wires, pcb's, and serial connectors with a screen & speaker thrown in there somewhere. :) Created final games using existing audio, graphics assets and game concepts (Grade 1 title).  Also contributed to the development of the “Spongebob Squarepants” and “Dora the Explorer” games.

Microsoft Research Demo

Created code to handle all of the timeline based animations & transitions, navigation, state and location logic, a custom sound engine, the storing & retreiving of user settings, and finally a handicap/accessibility layer. This application won the motion graphics category at Flash Forward 2005 San Francisco.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Flash/PHP contest site)

Helped to refine the initial concept into a plausible, easy-to-track solution. Created an animated contest microsite with email capture for Mann Theatres based on their Photoshp comp. The contest incorporated Twitter and Facebook, where secret codes were "transmitted" (along with a link to the microsite) for chances to win free tickets shortly before the movie's premiere.

The video player for WebMD

Created the functionality for this player from specs & design comps. Player derives video names, thumbnails, descriptions & timings from XML, has a simultaneous image/video based ad system, and streams content from a high capacity (Akamai) server.

Microsoft "Vines" Ad

Created a dynamic, portable masking/reveal system used accross several ad sizes to produce a 'growing' effect.

Incinerated by a Giant Robot in "War of the Worlds"

While it's true that this assignment required no Flash skills , I did get to run like a madman for several takes under the watchful eye of a respected VFX supervisor. For what it is worth, I seemed to always beat the other would-be victims down the hill- demonstrating great determination (or supreme cowardice). Thanks to CVC for the opportunity.

Microsoft "Firepower" Ad

Centipede-esque ‘advergame’ for Visual Studio. Fully functional at 6kb, though I had to remove some of the cool stuff (like the scoring system).

Demos for Sun Microsystems

Animated several demos for Sun Microsystems.

3D command vehicle wireframe & animation

This project came about when a client with a one-day deadline approached me to 'create a 3D model of a command center vehicle, and then illustrate the raising of a 50-ft antenna, followed by a high-flying tethered spy balloon'. How could I say no?

Game prototypes for Family Education Network

Progammed games for a new initiative related to Funbrain for FEN (Family Education Network).

Built-in Graphical CMS for Flash websites

Recently, I have been creating Flash-based websites that are truly easy to edit. Instead of updating a seperate CMS system, you simply log in and click on content right in the existing site to change it. Designed to make the process of updating Flash-based website content simple.
